Email marketing has grown tremendously over the years and it can benefit your business substantially. As with any type of marketing, email marketing takes a great deal of time and effort to insure it is working effectively.
There are many types of email marketing such as sending out periodical newsletters/ezines, sending out promotional emails and product updates, tutorials, etc.
Regardless of which type of email marketing you utilize, one important thing you must do is continually evaluate the effectiveness of your email marketing campaign. Do not let your email marketing go stale. You need to keep it alive, fresh and energized.
Below are 10 ways you can help energize your email marketing campaign:
Fresh and Helpful Content – Always be sure to include good, solid content. Check the content to make sure it is reliable. You want to make sure you are providing true, helpful information for your mailing list. Offer good resources, tools, tips and other content that will actually help your subscribers. This will help in building the foundation of the essential trust relationship between you and your mailing list members.
Make it Personal – Making your email more personal will help build trust and your reputation. You need to connect with your list and by making your emails more personal, warm and friendly, you will accomplish this task.
Grab Their Interest with Your Subject Line – Grabbing the readers’ interest with the subject line can make all the difference as to whether they open the email or just delete it. Keep the subject line short and to the point. Use words that will pique the reader’s curiosity and make them want to know more. Use power and/or action words such as new, innovative, secret, reveal, etc.

New, Innovative Sales Strategy Revealed…..
Be Available for Your Readers – There is nothing worse than emailing questions to a company about their products/services and waiting days or longer to get an answer. Make it a point to answer questions and concerns as soon as possible. Be as helpful and responsive as possible. You will be amazed at the difference this will make in your business.
Be Consistent – I know some people that will send out an email here and an email there – sometimes with months in between. This will never bring you any results. Send out your emails on a regular basis using the same design, layout and format each time. Keep them neat, clean and free from a lot of clutter. You want your readers to become familiar with your mailings.
Add New Features – Always be thinking of new features to add to your mailings to keep it fresh and alive. Add a Q&A section or do interviews with your readers. Give your readers a weekly challenge to accomplish to help them obtain their goals. Publish success stories. The possibilities are endless!
Offer Subscriber Only Specials – Let your subscribers know they are appreciated by offering them deals and specials that you would not offer anyone else. Give them an extra percentage off the price or give them a free gift in your mailings. Doing little things like this can go a long way for your business.
Get Your Mailing List Involved – Encourage them to email you with ideas, suggestions and feedback. Let them know you are willing to consider all their suggestions. Ask them if you can use their feedback. Post their questions with the answers to help all your readers. Make them feel like they make a difference because THEY DO!
Contests and Competitions – Hold contests and competitions for your subscribers and offer prizes. For example: Each week in my newsletter I have a trivia challenge for free advertising and a movie quote contest for a free ebook. They are a lot of fun and my subscribers let me know how much they enjoy it.
Offer Referral Incentives – Let your mailing list members know that if they refer people to your mailing list, they will be rewarded. Have contests on who can get the most referrals for a grand prize.
Business owners who successfully implement an email marketing campaign are likely to gain a huge advantage over those who don’t. But you must keep your email marketing fresh, alive, consistent and reliable. Keeping in contact with your mailing list members and providing them with useful, helpful information and resources will help build a solid foundation of trust with which to grow your business!

Internet Business To Business And Business To Consumer Marketing
Many people are aware of the internet marketing strategies; however, there are not too many who are aware of the two kinds, which are the business to consumers and business to business marketing.
If you have heard or come across a business to business or business to consumer marketing website, you have seen it as an ecommerce website selling a service or product to a certain customer base. However, you may also have encountered lead generation websites. Do these websites fall under business to business or business to consumer marketing?
Lead Generation Websites
Lead generation websites operate by basically accumulating data from the visitors by engaging them to fill out a certain form. Then these websites will involve themselves in activities that turn profits.
The visitor who fills out the form in a website is opting-in, which means that when a communication is sent to him, it will not be considered as any form of spamming. He is already considered as a customer; therefore, any lead generation websites can fall under the business of a consumer marketing program. In many cases though, the website can become a business to business marketing type as well.
The business to consumer marketing is coming into full force nowadays. Small, mid-sized, or big business types all use this internet marketing strategy simply for the reason that many people around the world are turning to the internet when it comes to buying products and services. Even banks have their own websites, which allow their clients to login, view account balance, transfer money into another account, and pay bills online. Essentially, this is already a form of B2C because they are reaching out to their customers.
The B2C Shopping Websites
There are also other big B2C websites which have become the shopping sanctuary of many people around the world, for example, eBay, Amazon, Yahoo stores, Buy, Barnes and Noble, and many other similar websites.
The Success of Marketing
B2C marketing is essentially the same with B2B, except in the latter, it focuses on business to business relationship instead of business to consumer relationship. Both however are becoming a phenomenal success in the field of internet business because they are able to reach the global audience and break geographical barriers which people have suffered in the past.
On the business owners’ side, they have found the advantages of being able to cut costs on the operations as extremely beneficial. In addition, whether you have small, mid-sized, or big business, these internet business to business and business to consumer marketing strategies are open to all.

Whether you’re a graphic designer, bank manager, hotel supervisor, direct sales consultant, restaurant or small business owner, you need your customers’ attention.
How do you get it? By offering your customers an incentive that rewards them in some way. Just like Kohl’s, McDonald’s, Pepsi and Incredible Pizza, you can create customer excitement and increase the return on your investment at the same time!
How? By designing a scratch-off game that has a specific call to action.
Examples:
Buy 1 burrito, get 1 free with a $20 order!
Get 10% off your next purchase of $30!
Free shipping with a $75 order. Hurry! Expires 9/30/10
These types of offers will grab your customers’ attention and make them want to take advantage of your special offer.
Your customers want to feel valued and special. They love using coupons to help them save money. According to the Nielsen report, coupon usage grew by 27% to a record 2.3 BILLION Dollars! So reward your customers by sending them a scratch-off coupon for their birthday, a store special or a discount on their next purchase. Make sure to create urgency by giving them an expiration date.
Scratch-off games and coupons involve interacting with your customers. When they get your card, they will scratch it to find out what is in it for them. It will get their attention and will not go directly to the trash bin. Everyone loves to feel like a winner.
How will you make your customer feel like a winner? Use scratch-offs!

Today’s economy as we all know is tough, maybe that is even an understatement. In economic times like these, it especially makes sense to think about how the Direct Sales industry would be able to help you succeed financially.
The Direct Sales industry has been around for over 100 years and is still a valid option to earn additional income or to be your primary income source. I will talk about why the industry is booming and why, even in this down economy the Direct Sales industry is a viable option to making money.
Direct Sales is a business built on relationships. When you find a product or service about which you’re passionate, it’s easy to share the good news with friends and family. You also have financial security with Direct Sales.
Job security is a flat out myth these days. Building your own business allows you to control your financial future. Whether you’re using your business to create a savings cushion, to make ends meet or to replace a corporate income, direct selling gives you the ability to take control.
With Direct Sales and Network Marketing you usually have a small initial investment and low risk which can generate high return and high earning potential, with potential being the key word. You have to be willing to put forth the effort. The more efficient the effort, the more money produced.
There are no boundaries to direct selling, no sales territories or restrictions. Network marketing allows independent consultants to set their own goals, dream big and create the life they want with no restrictions.
There are many tax benefits to owning a home business. The allowable deductions can make a real difference in what your family pays in taxes each year.
The freedom and flexibility are often the most appealing aspect of working from home. The freedom to choose when and how much to work is something most employers do not offer.
I believe it is these reasons why the industry as a whole has grown and thrived for over 100 years. The direct selling industry offers the opportunity for part time effort to equate to part time income, or full time effort to give you a full time income. The difference is, that effort will continue to pay you for years to come, that is the beauty of residual income.

I have been so busy this week working on a new website that I seem to be all consumed with it. It is a lot of work sourcing products and organizing ideas and finding the right website template and design. Does this shopping cart do everything I need it to do? Will the merchant account capabilities work with what I currently have? Is this dropshipper a scam or are they legit? Ahh, all the questions. My head is spinning. I am happy to say that it is coming together nicely. I want it to be a gift shop of sorts and sell giftable items– mostly with a mother /baby theme, but I have added items in there for men also. We can’t forget them! I am working with the website builder CityMax.com ( yes that was a plug for them ) because I am really impressed with what they offer you for the price. I am very happy with them so far. I need to purchase the domain I want, and then start marketing. Sounds easy, right?
More later…

I know that if you have been around the online business world for a little while you have no doubt heard the term drop-shipping. Drop-shipping is a method where you can sell online with out having the worries or expense of carrying inventory. Basically, the drop shipper carries the inventory and then ships to your customer after you have made a sale from your website and paid the dropshipper. They typically give you a 25-40% discount and this is your profit as the store owner.
Does this sound too good to be true? Maybe, but maybe not. The key is to find a dropshipper that you know and trust to ship your products in a timely manner, and to talk to them and establish contact and a business relationship. It can be a win -win situation for everyone.
If this is something you are looking into doing, I would do a test run with whomever it is that you want to use as a drop shipper. Place an order and have it either shipped to yourself, or a friend who can tell you when they receive the item. I have tested a few drop-shippers this way. I am happy to say that everyone I have worked with has been reliable, so it can and does work well.
Happy Selling.

I know there are a million and one articles on how to sell on ebay. I am not going to tell you how to sell on ebay here, but what I am going to tell you is this… If you have extra “stuff” laying around your house, you really can make some decent money selling stuff on ebay. I have an example for you. Recently, my almost 15 year old son decided that he wanted a new gaming computer. Haha. was my response. I told him if he wanted more than that decent laptop that he already had, then he would have to earn the money himself and buy it. I am here to tell you, the child was motivated, and sold old PC and XBox games on Ebay. He made a decent amount of money toward that computer doing this. ( Really it was me that was selling the games because he is too young to have an ebay account but you get my point- the money went towards his new computer.)
That got me to thinking about ramping up my ebay account and looking for a dropshipper. I am still in the thinking stages of this new idea. In the past I have sold items here and there on ebay and done well. I have a 100% rating and I think somewhere around 78 stars. Not so bad. Maybe tomorrow’s post will be on dropshipping. Stay tuned.

If your business is not Facebooking, Tweeting, or on Linked In, then I would say that you are losing customers and would be contacts.
The age of Social Media is upon us, and if you are not at least posting a couple of times a week to either a Facebook page, or tweeting or have a profile on Linked In, then I would advise you to start now.
I personally feel that connecting via Facebook and Twitter daily to your followers is essential.
I mention these three, because of all the social media sites out there, I think these are the top three and the ones with the most traffic.
Are you trying to build a list of subscribers? Make a Facebook Fan page for your business. These people will then find your website and subscribe to your list. The same with Twitter. Linked In will also post your Twitter and Facebook updates in a stream on your profile, so really you only need to post to say Facebook and have it all linked together.
I like Linked In because I feel it has a very professional appeal. You connect with those you have done business with, and those that you respect professionally and personally.
So, if you want to ramp up your marketing efforts, open a Facebook fan page, a Twitter account, a Linked In account and start posting!

I have been an Avon rep for the last 6 1/2 years. Has it always been easy? No way. Has it been worth it? Yes. I will tell you that working direct sales is all about customers and establishing relationships with them.
I think one of the most important, if not the most important thing, to understand about Direct Sales, is to pick a company that you are passionate about. If you don’t use or like the products, you’re going to have a hard time selling them. Really. People are drawn to you when you tell them the truth about a new product you have tried. “Hey, I love this new moisturizer, it works so well for my skin.” Customers need that feedback from you- their sales rep. I know this is why I have been successful with Avon. I use the products and I talk about them!
